Beyoncé
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is
an American singer, songwriter, actress, and fashion designer. She was born in
Houston grew up there and took part in various singing and dancing competitions as a child.
In the late 1990s she rose to fame as the lead singer of the R&B
girl group Destiny's Child. Managed by her father Mathew Knowles, the group
one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. During a hiatus in the
the group's existence, Beyoncé released her debut album Dangerously in Love (2003),
which established her name as a solo artist worldwide; it was sold 11 million times
sold and earned five Grammy Awards, in addition to the two singles Crazy in Love and Baby
Boy who reached number one on the American Billboard chart.
